Wii're Not Big Fans of Shooters

Hello gamers,
Is it just me, or does Nintendo want nothing to do with great shooters for their console?

I was taking a look into Alone in the Dark for the Wii, and I noticed that it only is single player. Now, I understand that the Xbox version doesn't have a co-op or multiplayer function either, but why doesn't the Wii have any really great shooters out yet? Sure, we have some good shooters with amazing single player (Metroid Prime 3) and we have a few nice online shooters (Medal of Honor: Heroes II), but no shooter has been released with off-line multiplayer for the Wii that is worth playing. It would also be great if they had some co-op shooters besides some old arcade games.

I'm not saying that the Wii should just focus on shooters, but they don't have many of them. I think the reason for that is because most of the games where you use the Wii remote to use a gun doesn't always work (if you've played Red Steel, you know what I'm talking about). When RE4 for the Wii came out, I was hoping they would have a co-op option for the game, but they didn't. With multiplayer, you have some great replay value and just think of how awesome it would be to aim the gun with the Wii remote if the designer made the motion sensing perfect.

because of the lack of bloody shooter games, i have used my wii significantly less, there all about family fun, and happy jolly games. the wii just has the perfect setup for shooters, like the wii zapper attachment, and just the whole motion control principle. its asking for a shooter. i may just hook a wii-mote up to my comp. and play some counterstrike with it.

Exactly. If the Wii could get a really great shooter with amazing replay value and some multiplayer/co-op, it would be a major hit (if the game designers know how to tweak the sensitivity correctly). I'm just hoping that Alone in the Dark as amazing single player or else it won't be worth the $50. That's one reason why I like the 360's achievment system. It adds some difficulty to the game and replay value. It's also a way to show off to friends.

I have Played Alone in the Dark for 360. I really wanted it to be good, but it was filled with glitches and the controls were terrible. The Graphics in most parts had a huge lack of texture to.

I will soon review it for the 360, but honestly i think for the Wii the controls would be nice, but i am a little afraid of the graphics, if you have played Far Cry: Vengeance, you will understand.
